| Handbook corrections.
Sorry, but two have crept in and have been
spotted. Harry Halliwell notes that his
phone no is omitted ffrom Deva Club details. It is Harry Halliwell, 0151 339 7806
Club Comps (p25) I note that the date
for Connah's Quay comp at the beginning of May is listed as 5 May It should be Open
Singles Sunday 2 May (Note original email to me
with the dates said 5th. So I share the blame with CQ ! It is
correct on the website.) But, apologies for the errors.
Moving on. Lesley will contact
N Wales Secs in a day or so to arrange collection of Handbooks and
League information for 2010. I will deliver the
Chester Clubs stuff to be collected from Derrick Lester's home after
Tueday 9 March. (Hoole, Tower Gardens, Upton, Bache). I
will deliver booklets etc to Chris Nevitt at Farndon on Tuesday. She
will contact clubs near to her for collection/delivery. I
will contact ASAP - Cuddington, Manley and Tarvin to make convenient
arrangements. |

A junior coaching initiative
Lesley Williams (Comp Secretary) tells me that she is going for
a coaching qualification to attempt to get a few youngsters into
our sport. Her base will obviously be Mancot, and while the
primary beneficiary may be that club, if she has some success, she
hopes that any ideas developed can be shared around to help
others.
To make progress however, she will need some small woods - 2.0,
2.2, 2.4 or even pairs of black jacks, since no lower age limit
will be put on recruits. So she asks if anyone has any surplus
woods of the smaller variety, could they contact her. Donations
would be superb, but would be willing to pay a reasonable price.
If you can help - her mobile is 07903 845282 |

League Fixtures 2010
The 2010 fixtures are now on the normal page for fixtures. Please note
that because of the requirement passed at the AGM for League fixtures to
be mainly on Mondays, there are some alterations to past years.
In particular, the regular 'reverse' fixtures marching through the
season is not quite as simple as in the past. Therefore, would players, if
interested, please look at the fixtures for ANY ACTUAL MISTAKES.
As well, there are one or two instances where the home and away matches
do not alternate simply. This cannot be helped.
I will alter any fixture where a clash is pointed out. Any other
things will not be altered. As this is the first time we've done this,
members' assistance would be appreciated.
As soon as the Round Robin Fixtures are finalised, they will get
their own page.

CPO again.
Slightly better news on Child protection. The latest I have from
ISA (govt. body) and BCGBA is that as a League we will NOT now
have to appoint a CPO (or Welfare Officer). Registration for those
who do need to appoint, i.e. individual clubs, will start in July.
Google the term ISA (Independednt Safeguarding
Authority) for further details from the horse's mouth .
